The Process
Four steps from choosing the ritual to a confirmed purohit. No calls needed, though we’re on WhatsApp if you’d rather talk it through.
Select Puja, Paath, Jaap or Vivah — each category opens the rituals we currently perform.
Pick your city or locality and whether the vidhi should be performed in Bengali or Hindi.
Choose the exact puja and a date. Auspicious dates for that ritual are highlighted for you.
Review what’s included, confirm, and receive your pandit’s details with the samagri list.

Verification
Booking a pandit online only works if you know who is arriving at your door. This is exactly what we check before any purohit takes a booking.
Identity, address and family lineage are confirmed in person. Nothing is self-declared.
Each purohit is assigned only to rituals they are formally trained in — Bengali Smarta vidhi or Vedic Hindi paddhati.
Every booking is reviewed by the family afterwards. A purohit who falls below our standard stops receiving bookings.
You receive a written vidhi outline and samagri list in advance, so nothing is missing on the day.

Before You Book
For everyday pujas, two to three days is usually enough. For Griha Pravesh, weddings and festival pujas like Durga Puja or Lakshmi Puja, book two to three weeks ahead — purohits get committed early in those seasons.
The written samagri list is always included, shared with you in advance. Arranging the samagri itself is optional — you can buy it yourself, or add it to your booking and we will bring it. Ready samagri kits are also available in our spiritual products store.
Yes. The language step in the booking form decides the tradition, not just the spoken language — Bengali selects Smarta paddhati as practised in Bengal, Hindi selects the Vedic paddhati followed across North India. Mantras remain in Sanskrit; the explanation to your family is in your chosen language.
Yes, free of charge up to 48 hours before the ritual. Within 48 hours we will still try, but it depends on the purohit’s schedule for that date.
Cancellations more than 48 hours before the ritual are fully refunded. Inside 48 hours a small assignment fee applies, since the purohit has already blocked the date. Full terms are in our refund policy.
Six zones across Kolkata are live today, covering North, Central and South Kolkata, Salt Lake and New Town, Howrah and the south-west fringe. Barasat, Barrackpore, Serampore, Durgapur and Siliguri are served on request.
We match on three things: the specific ritual and whether the purohit is trained in it, the tradition you selected, and distance from your address so travel time stays short. You receive the purohit’s name, photo and contact number once the booking is confirmed.
You get an immediate confirmation with your package details, followed by the purohit’s details and the samagri list. A day before the ritual we send a reminder with the muhurat timing and a short preparation checklist. Check timings any time with our Muhurat Finder.
More About This Service
Finding a purohit has always worked through word of mouth — an uncle’s contact, a neighbour’s recommendation, a number saved years ago. That works until you move to a new locality, or the ritual is unfamiliar. Amodr exists for that gap: choose the ritual, the city, the tradition and the date, and a verified pandit is assigned to you with the vidhi and samagri written down in advance.
Most of our bookings come from Kolkata and its suburbs — Ballygunge, Bhowanipore, Salt Lake, New Town, Behala, Dum Dum and Howrah. Because we assign by zone, a Bengali purohit for a Ballygunge Satyanarayan Puja and a Hindi pandit for a New Town Griha Pravesh are drawn from different parts of the same verified network. See the full service coverage above.
You can book a puja pandit for Griha Pravesh and housewarming, Satyanarayan Puja, Durga Puja, Lakshmi Puja, Kali Puja, Saraswati and Ganesh Puja, Bhoomi Pujan, Namkaran, Annaprashan and Mundan. Paath bookings include Sundarkand, Chandi Paath and Bhagavad Gita. Jaap bookings cover Mahamrityunjaya, Gayatri and Navagraha Shanti. For weddings, we provide a wedding pandit for full Vivah rituals as well as engagement and ashirbad ceremonies.
Amodr comes from a ten-generation pandit family, so the vidhi is not simplified for convenience. What changes is the arrangement around it: transparent pricing from ₹999, a written samagri list, muhurat guidance built into the date picker, and a reviewed purohit network. Tradition stays intact; the booking becomes something you can finish on your phone in two minutes.
